Erie, PA – Bliley Technologies, leader in high performance frequency control devices, today announced their Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite OCXO product line, Iris. The Iris series OCXO was specifically designed for LEO orbit space applications, designed to be radiation tolerant for both total ionizing dosage and linear energy transfer typical of LEO orbits. Iris offers the expected Bliley quality and performance with excellent phase noise stability and g-sensitivity. Iris’ low power dissipation and small size compared to traditional space OCXOs makes it a great choice for small LEO payloads.
"We designed the most affordable space OCXO available on the market today." Says Tommy Reed, Bliley's VP of Technology. “Leveraging our space heritage and ultra low phase noise design capabilities we were able to develop a product that solves all of the SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) requirements that are driven by smaller satellites,” he added.
“The ultra stable master reference oscillator (MRO) paired with our optional Phase Lock Loop (PLL) circuitry, offers a huge advantage for LEO constellations that needs high performance for a low cost,” said Greg Rogers, VP of Products. "The Iris products are available today for sampling and use in reference designs."
“In today’s data driven world, the continuous need for high speed connectivity made it imperative that we accelerated the launch of our low cost space OCXO designed specifically for large satellite constellations,” CEO Keith Szewczyk commented. “Iris is the center of our strategic focus for New Space, and we are excited to have launch customers under contract with very large LEO constellations planned.”
